Despacito the song of Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi together with Daddy Yankee was released in the year 2017. It was the top streaming music of that moment within just six months. The single Despacito, which combines pop music with reggaeton was not only a way to bring new interest to reggaeton but also brought more attention to Latin music. Billboard's Top 100 featured two songs in Spanish mostly, and four tracks in the year 2016. The Despacito album reached its peak chart-topping success in 2017, 19 tracks primarily made in Spanish made it to the top 100. This number rose to 41 in 2020. In the wake of Justin Bieber released his bilingual remix of Despacito in the year 2017 the most well-known artists began to join forces with reggaeton artists. Drake and Bad Bunny worked together for the track MIA MIA (2018) and Madonna joined forces with Maluma for Medellin 2019, which was released in 2019. Reggaeton's mainstreaming was a concern for some performers by 2020. Rauw alejandro and a young generation, however, were keen to keep the look. Rauw Alejandro incorporated elements of other styles and electronic music.
